| Description | In Como criar sua própria sereia, Marina Carr tells us a short story about the imaginary world of a young girl and her friend mermaid. She’s taken by imagination after seeing an advertisement on the newspaper where they would send a mermaid to anyone who bought a certain product. The story also depicts the young girl’s dysfunctional family relations. This project is part of a larger scope of research and extension to promote Irish theatrical and poetic culture by the Center for Irish Studies and also of a research project on contemporary Irish theater written by women (2015-2021) coordinated by Prof. Dr. Alinne Balduino Pires Fernandes. |
