Jéssica Soares Lopes has a BA in English from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) and an MA in the field of Discourse and Translation Studies in Sociocultural Contexts from the Graduate Programme in English (PPGI-UFSC). As a PhD candidate in Literary and Cultural Studies, their present research focuses on Northern Irish theatre. Their main interests are in the areas of language studies, foreign literatures and radio drama, with a focus on gender and feminism. They have been a member of Núcleo de Estudos Irlandeses (NEI) at UFSC since 2020, where they have been developing an interest in investigating technology, bodies, spaces and class in Irish literature.
