Maria Rita Drumond Viana was the cofounder and coordinator of Núcleo de Estudos Irlandeses (NEI) up to 2021, when she took up a position at the Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (UFOP) in the state of Minas Gerais. Her research in Irish Studies focuses on auto/biographical genres such as letters, diaries, and members, particularly by W. B. Yeats, as well as matters of translation, edition, and reception of Irish texts.
