Patrícia Pimenta de Paula holds a degree in Theatre from the Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina (Udesc) and is currently an MA candidate in the Graduate Programme in English (PPGI) at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), within the field of Literatures in English. Her research is situated within Theatre Translation Studies, with a focus on practice-as-research approaches and on the implications of translation as a situated and performative process. She is currently developing a collaborative translation project of Fen, by Caryl Churchill, in dialogue with women farmers from Santa Catarina, investigating how local experiences reconfigure the dramatic text in performance. Her research interests include feminist theatre, translation as an embodied practice, and the limits of intercultural mediation within specific contexts of production and reception.
